Yogi Adityanath Honors Jain Heritage at Parasnath Temple Event

CM Yogi Adityanath honors Jain heritage at the Parasnath Temple event, highlighting Rishabhdev’s legacy, Sikh sacrifices, and Ayodhya’s spiritual significance.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, attended the Parasnath Idol and Temple Foundation Day celebration in Ghaziabad on Thursday. He remarked that Rishabhdev, the first Jain Tirthankara, is revered and was recognized during the event.

He went on to say that the holy city of Ayodhya is where the first Jain Tirthankara, Lord Rishabhdev, and four other Tirthankaras were born.

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh took part in the “Special Gurumati Samagam” in honor of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th anniversary of martyrdom. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently traveled to Ayodhya to raise the saffron flag atop the Ram Temple, CM Yogi said during the event. He emphasized that generations of Sikh gurus gave their lives in defense of this same saffron flag. Today, PM Narendra Modi traveled to Ayodhya. The saffron flag of India’s Sanatan Dharma was raised atop the Shri Ram temple today to commemorate the completion of the temple’s construction at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. The generations of Sikh gurus have been giving their lives in support of this same saffron banner.

In 1675, “Hind di Chadar,” also known as Guru Tegh Bahadur, gave his life in defense of religious freedom. In India’s socioreligious history, his sacrifice is significant because it represents the defense of civil liberties and plurality. According to the state administration, the purpose of the commemoration is to increase awareness of his lessons on equality, compassion, and fortitude.
