UP CM Yogi Adityanath meets IPS 2023-24 trainees, emphasizing citizen trust, cybercrime vigilance, and modern policing skills.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, met with twenty-three trainee officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS) 2023 and 2024 batches on Monday. In order to become effective and pro-citizen police, the CM counseled them during their encounter to concentrate on communication, sensitivity, and optimism.

In order to encourage the officers to make the most of their training time and establish a solid professional foundation, he outlined the unique difficulties that one would encounter in a state such as Uttar Pradesh.

“Learning how to quickly and effectively handle real-life problems should be the main goal of district training. As first responders, it is the police’s duty to gain the victims’ trust by being timely, acting appropriately, and setting priorities, Yogi stated.

The CM referred to police stations as the foundation of law enforcement and encouraged the IPS officers in training to get a thorough awareness of their operations, management, investigation procedures, duty management, and local conflicts.

According to him, one of the most effective tools an officer can use is human intelligence. He emphasized the importance of interacting with local populations, maintaining a strong field presence, and fostering trust at all levels. In addition, Yogi stressed the value of synchronization and urged the training officers to fully comprehend the responsibilities, assets, and difficulties of the police station, circle, and police line.

The CM warned the trainee officers against “irresponsible behaviour with public representatives,” highlighting a crucial component of policing. A casual approach in such contacts is not appropriate for police personnel, he added, adding that such interactions must be respectful and responsible. According to him, productive interaction with public officials promotes stronger law and order because they represent the people’s voice.

“Crime is evolving rapidly, so your preparedness must be equally modern and swift,” the CM added, emphasizing the need for vigilance against crimes targeting women, cybercrime, and illegal drug networks. Digital forensics, cyber tools, and efficient technology utilization should be taught to trainees.

Yogi told the trainees that their greatest strength would be their integrity, discipline, and compassionate viewpoint, and that their actions would not only influence future law and order but also strengthen public confidence and security.
