Prayagraj Bride Threatens Groom to cut in 35 pieces at wedding night, Flees to Reunite with her Lover
A Nightmare Wedding: UP Bride Threatens Groom, Escapes Days Later
In a chilling turn of events that has shocked Uttar Pradesh, a newlywed bride from Prayagraj allegedly threatened to cut her groom into 35 pieces on their wedding night, claiming she was in love with another man. The incident unfolded in ADA Colony, Prayagraj, just days after the wedding ceremony, and ended with the bride fleeing her marital home.
A Love Story Gone Wrong
The groom, 26-year-old Captain Nishad, tied the knot with Sitara, daughter of Lakshmi Narayan Nishad from Karachhana Deeha village, on April 29. Following traditional ceremonies, Sitara arrived at her husband’s home on April 30, with a reception hosted on May 2. But the newlywed bliss was short-lived.
At the night of April 30 turned terrifying when Nishad entered the room to find Sitara sitting silently under a veil, holding a knife. She reportedly told him:
“Don’t touch me. I’m Aman’s property. If you try, I’ll cut you into 35 pieces.”
Frozen in fear, Nishad claims he spent the night on the sofa while Sitara remained on the bed, armed. This disturbing scenario repeated for three nights, during which Sitara reportedly stayed awake till midnight, and Nishad remained alert out of fear for his life.
Mental Trauma and Shocking Revelations
The mental pressure soon became unbearable. On May 3, Nishad confided in his mother. When confronted, Sitara allegedly confessed that she was in love with a man named Aman, was forced into marriage, and wanted to return to him.
She is reported to have said, “Aman alone has the right to spend the wedding night with me.”
Following this revelation, a family meeting was organized on May 25 involving local elders. A written compromise was signed, in which Sitara reluctantly agreed to stay in the marriage. However, her behavior suggested otherwise.
Continued Rejection and Escape
Despite the agreement, Sitara allegedly continued to reject Nishad in private. She showed family members her ongoing chats with Aman and even called him in their presence, urging him to take her away. In one such call, Aman allegedly threatened to kill Nishad.
According to Nishad’s sister, the family initially thought he was merely adjusting to married life. But they grew alarmed when Sitara made her intentions clear and displayed her communications with Aman.
The situation escalated on the night of May 30 when Sitara escaped the house. Despite the main gate being locked, she allegedly climbed the rear boundary wall and fled. CCTV footage showed her limping away around midnight. The family claimed they were unaware of her escape plan and had taken precautions to prevent such an event.
Family Reaction and Police Involvement
Nishad’s mother, Shanti Devi, said the family lived in constant fear. She alleged that Sitara threatened to harm herself or her son, placing the family in a precarious situation.
“We were always afraid that we would be blamed if something happened,” she said, expressing relief after Sitara’s departure.
Sitara’s father, Lakshmi Narayan, expressed anguish and disappointment.
“I tried to find a good match for her, but she refused to accept the marriage. It’s brought shame and distress to the family.”
The matter was brought to Naini Bridge Police Station, but no FIR was filed. Inspector Kishore Gautam confirmed that both families chose a mutual settlement, and a written agreement was submitted. Police treated it as a domestic issue, respecting the family’s decision.
Aftermath and Moving Forward
Now attempting to move on, Nishad stated that he is emotionally scarred by the ordeal, and feared for the life every night. He said he will consider marriage again if he can be sure that the life partner understands what marriage truly means.
