‘I Want to Go to School’: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Grants 5-Year-Old’s Wish in Just 3 Hours

Lucknow : In a heartwarming episode from Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath turned a young girl’s simple plea into a life-changing moment. During his Janata Darshan on Monday, a five-year-old girl named Vachi requested help for school admission—a request that was fulfilled within three hours, bringing an end to her father’s three-month struggle.

A Child’s Voice Heard at Janata Darshan

Held regularly at the CM’s official residence, Janata Darshan allows citizens to directly present grievances to the Chief Minister. On this particular day, Vachi, accompanied by her father Amit Kumar, mother Prachi, and younger sister Aachi, stood out among the crowd.

CM Yogi, reviewing a stack of public petitions, noticed the little girl sitting eagerly among adults. With a gentle smile, he asked, “So, you don’t want to go to school?” To which Vachi quickly replied, “No, I do want to! Please help me get admitted.” Her innocence and eagerness touched everyone present.

When asked which class she wished to join, Vachi simply said, “I don’t know the name.” Her candid answer drew smiles from the crowd—and swift action from the CM.

Swift Action and Result

Without delay, CM Yogi handed her application to Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary (Home), and directed that the child be admitted to school immediately. The matter was escalated, and by the afternoon, CL Gupta World School in Moradabad granted Vachi admission under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The school promptly informed the District Basic Education Officer (BSA) of the update.

By 3 PM, as the family waited at Lucknow Railway Station to head back home, they received a call confirming that their daughter had been successfully enrolled.

A Father’s Journey of Hope

Vachi’s father, Amit Kumar, earns a living as a Rapido bike taxi driver. For months, he had been trying to secure admission for his daughter under the RTE quota. Despite repeated attempts, bureaucratic delays blocked his path—until he decided to take the matter to the highest authority in the state.

Speaking to reporters, Amit said, “We are speechless. The CM didn’t just listen—he acted like a guardian. Under his leadership, daughters in Uttar Pradesh are growing up with dignity and respect.”

His wife, Prachi, echoed the sentiment, expressing gratitude for the government’s prompt and compassionate response.

Little Vachi’s Joyful Memories

Asked about her experience, Vachi joyfully recalled, “I met Yogi ji. I told him to get me admitted to school, and he said he would. He even gave me biscuits and chocolates.” Her innocence and gratitude captured the spirit of the moment.

Symbol of Yogi Adityanath’s Governance Model

This incident highlights CM Yogi Adityanath’s proactive governance and his emphasis on education, especially for the underprivileged. The swift resolution not only restored one child’s right to education but also served as a broader message about the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

Under CM Yogi’s leadership, girls’ education has received renewed focus in Uttar Pradesh, with multiple state schemes designed to enhance access to schools, ensure safety, and reduce dropout rates—especially in rural and economically weaker sections.
