On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse (June 26), Rajasthan’s Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Avinash Gehlot will flag off the marathon titled “Run Against Drug Abuse”. The event will begin at 5:15 AM from Gandhi Circle (JLN Marg) to RIC via Aranya Bhawan, Jaipur.
Mr. Gehlot has appealed to the general public to be part of this unique initiative started by the state government. He emphasized that people should not only join the campaign themselves but also spread awareness among family members and every section of society about staying drug-free.
The Minister stated that like every year, June 26 is being observed across the state as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. As part of this observance, various awareness activities have been organized in all districts of Rajasthan from June 1 to June 26, highlighting the harmful effects of narcotic substances.
Mr. Gehlot added that across the state, numerous initiatives have been launched, including the release and distribution of posters and promotional materials against drugs, street plays, rallies, seminars in educational institutions and coaching centers, both online and offline pledges on the government portal, outreach programs by de-addiction centers, walkathons, mini-marathons, bike and cycling rallies, and a variety of workshops and seminars.
