AAP protests Delhi pollution crisis. Saurabh Bharadwaj slams CM Rekha Gupta for inaction, urges urgent measures to improve air quality.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)  staged a protest in the national capital over the rapidly deteriorating air quality in Delhi. AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj led the demonstration, accusing Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of failing to take effective measures to address the worsening pollution crisis.

Speaking during the protest, Bharadwaj highlighted the severe health risks posed by the rising levels of smog and toxic air. He urged the Delhi government to implement immediate steps, including stricter enforcement of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), reduction in vehicular emissions, and prompt action against industrial polluters.

“The residents of Delhi are struggling to breathe as pollution levels reach hazardous limits, yet the Chief Minister remains inactive. Immediate action is necessary to protect public health,” Bharadwaj said.

The protest comes amid alarming data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), which indicates that Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has been consistently in the ‘severe’ category over the past few days, with visibility reduced in several parts of the city.

AAP leaders also emphasized the importance of public awareness campaigns and the provision of medical aid for vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions. They warned that continued negligence by the administration could have long-term health consequences for Delhi’s residents.

The party demanded that the Delhi government take accountability and implement urgent interventions to curb pollution levels and ensure a safer environment for all citizens.
