Haryana Launches Strategic Trade Bridge to Tap British Markets

GURUGRAM — Haryana has launched an ambitious economic expansion under its Haryana Go Global Vision. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced new initiatives to connect local enterprises with global supply chains. Speaking at the “Haryana-UK CETA Trade Bridge” event in Gurugram, he highlighted how the landmark deal accelerates state trade.

The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) eliminates barriers across key manufacturing sectors. Consequently, regional exporters gain duty-free access to British buyers. The administration targets a $1 trillion state economy by leveraging these modern trade corridors.

Furthermore, the state introduced 10 sector-specific policies for emerging industries like artificial intelligence and semiconductors. Official records show immediate industry interest, with 110 preliminary pacts already signed.

Unlocking Key Sectors for Export Success

The trade accord offers substantial relief for labor-intensive industries across Haryana. Specifically, textiles, footwear, gems, and engineering goods receive immediate tariff reductions. Industrial centers like Panipat, Faridabad, and Manesar stand to profit directly from expanded global orders.

Local exporters can now scale operations without high import duties slowing down overseas growth. Therefore, small firms gain equal ground against major global competitors.

Strengthening MSMEs and Young Entrepreneurs

Micro, small, and medium enterprises form the backbone of the state’s industrial output. Under the Haryana Go Global Vision, over 15 lakh MSMEs registered formal business operations. The state’s updated policy aims to double total export values within five years.

Additionally, young entrepreneurs get direct support to showcase innovations abroad. Digital trade systems reduce compliance hurdles, making international selling faster for startups.

Positioning Gurugram as a Global Technology Hub

Gurugram continues to lead as a top destination for corporate headquarters and technology providers. The bilateral agreement expands business mobility for skilled professionals in software and financial services. As a result, global capability centers in Haryana can seamlessly trade services with British partners.

Moreover, educational institutions gain opportunities for joint research programs. Mutual recognition of professional qualifications will help local talent work on global assignments without extra friction.

Preparing for the 2027 Investor Summit

To maintain momentum, the government announced the “Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit” for April 2027. Official delegations will host roadshows across major economic hubs, including London, Tokyo, and Dubai.

These international efforts show a clear commitment to industrial growth. By combining modern policy with international agreements, the Haryana Go Global Vision builds a durable bridge for lasting economic strength.
