AAP accuses Gujarat BJP government of ignoring cow grazing lands, affecting livestock and farmer livelihoods.
Gujarat: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sharply criticized the BJP government in Gujarat, accusing it of neglecting cow grazing lands despite repeatedly campaigning in the name of “Mother Cow.” The party claims that the government, which promised protection and welfare for cattle, has instead allowed grazing lands to shrink, negatively impacting rural communities and livestock.
According to AAP leaders, “The BJP government that came to power by seeking votes in the name of Mother Cow—it’s the very people of the BJP who have devoured the cows’ grazing lands.” The statement highlights how grazing lands, which are essential for feeding cattle, have been reduced due to encroachment, industrialization, and urban expansion.

The issue has sparked concern among farmers, cattle owners, and animal welfare groups, who argue that the reduction in grazing areas threatens both livestock health and the rural economy. AAP has emphasized that protecting grazing lands is not just a matter of animal welfare but also crucial for sustaining farmers’ livelihoods, especially in rural Gujarat.
The party has vowed to raise the issue consistently in state forums and assemblies, demanding immediate action to restore and preserve cow grazing areas. AAP also plans to organize awareness campaigns and engage with local farmers to ensure that the government implements concrete measures to protect grazing lands.

With Gujarat seeing rapid urbanization, AAP warns that failure to protect grazing lands could have long-term consequences for the state’s agriculture sector and cattle population. The party asserts that the BJP’s promises regarding cow protection have not translated into meaningful action, and it is the responsibility of the government to safeguard these critical resources.
