British tourist accuses Tunisia Parasail operator of sexual assault mid-air
A 52-year-old British Woman, Michelle Wilson, has accused a parasailing operator in Tunisia of sexually assaulting her mid-air. According to her the incident occurred off the beach in Sousse when she was harnessed with a parasail operator.
Michelle and her friends had plans to parasail together, but due to windy conditions staff said they would have to go separately, each accompanied an operator. While her friend completed the ride in a funny and enjoyable manner, Michelle’s experience took a disturbing turn
She alleges that during the flight- the male operator, believed to be in his 20’s, pulled harness tightly, drawing her body close to her
“I could feel the back of my bikini bottoms being pulled, and he was pulling the strap”, she said. “Then i felt him touch my leg, his legds were straddled around me and only one of his hands was on the parachute”
Michelle was overcome with emotion and teary eyes upon landing and promptly notified both the parasailing company and the local police about the incident. The operator has since been apprehended, and investigations are currently in progress.
The British Foreign Office has verified that they are providing assistance to the woman and are in communication with the authorities in Tunisia. This incident has raised alarm among tourists, leading to renewed demands for more stringent regulations and oversight of water sport operators in well-frequented tourist areas.
