CM Pushkar Dhami announces 26,000 govt jobs in Uttarakhand, new projects for Kedarnath & Badrinath, and Rs 1 lakh crore investments in 25 years.
Dehradun: Pushkar Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, said that the state has added 26,000 government jobs in the last four years and the number will rise to at least 36,000 by next year.
At a press conference to kick off the silver anniversary celebrations for the founding of Uttarakhand, Dhami disclosed the numbers.
“There have been a few tests, but the results have not yet been made public.” He remarked, “With all of this, there will be 10,000 to 12,000 more recruits in the next year.”
Dhami added that now is the ideal time to talk about the state’s accomplishments because Uttarakhand will have been around for 25 years on November 9.
He claimed that Uttarakhand was the first state in the country to put the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) into effect. This made land laws stronger, laws against forced conversion, laws against riots, and laws against counterfeiting.
He claimed that the state guarantees 10% of government jobs for the families of people who fought for statehood and 30% for women.

The chief minister added that since the 2023 Global Investors Summit, the state has gotten more than Rs 1 lakh crore in investments and set up a Rs 200 crore venture fund for new businesses.
He added that the economy has grown 26 times bigger since the state was formed, and the average income has expanded 17 times.
There was a budget of more than Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time in the state’s history for the financial year 2025–26.
According to Dhami, the Antyodaya Yojana gives 1.85 lakh families in the state three cooking gas cylinders a year. The Lakhpati Didi Yojana has helped 1.65 lakh women become self-sufficient.
He claimed that Kedarnath is taking on a “magnificent” shape and that all development work there should be done within a year.
Dhami added that Badrinath is working on a master plan with a budget of Rs 300 crore. The construction of a ropeway to Kedarnath and Hemkund is also going to start.
