Gairsain: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the fourth day of the budget session on January 31, 2026, at the state legislative assembly in Gairsain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand. During the session, the government emphasized key initiatives under the Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27, including equal pay for former UPNL employees and robust emergency preparedness measures.
CM Dhami Orders Vigilance on Food & Logistics
In line with the Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27, the state government has deployed officials and experts at the Uttarakhand State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) in Dehradun. The team is responsible for monitoring the supply and distribution of essential commodities such as food grains and LPG, ensuring uninterrupted availability amid ongoing global challenges.

Chief Minister Dhami said, “The state government is fully alert to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities for the people of Uttarakhand. All necessary arrangements are in place, and no citizen will face inconvenience.”
Key Provisions Under Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27
The Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27 has allocated Rs 289.98 crore to guarantee equal pay for equal work for former UPNL employees, reflecting the government’s commitment to labor rights. Additionally, the budget prioritizes strengthening supply chains for food and other essentials, ensuring the state is prepared for any emergency situation.
Officials at SEOC are following a strict roster to continuously review food and logistics data, coordinate among departments, and take prompt actions whenever required.
Government Ensures Public Confidence
The Chief Minister reassured the public that food and essential commodities are currently sufficient and warned citizens against paying heed to rumors. “Availability of essential items is adequate, and the government’s constant monitoring will prevent any disruption,” CM Dhami added.
By implementing these measures, the Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27 not only addresses equitable employment but also reinforces the state’s preparedness for emergencies, reflecting a proactive governance approach.
