CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Highlights Cleanliness, Tourism, and Public Health in Uttarakhand Sanitation Initiative

Dehradun : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday handed out appointment letters to newly recruited Sanitation Inspectors under the Municipal Centralised Service in Dehradun, reinforcing the state’s commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. The move is a major step in the Uttarakhand sanitation initiative aimed at boosting tourism and maintaining public health standards.

Addressing the newly appointed officials, CM Dhami said, “I congratulate all the Sanitation Inspectors. Our state relies heavily on tourism, and maintaining cleanliness is a responsibility that directly impacts visitors’ experiences. This appointment is a crucial part of the ongoing Uttarakhand sanitation initiative.”

He further highlighted that upcoming events such as the 2027 Kumbh Mela and the Chaar Dham Yatra make it essential to ensure the state remains clean and hygienic. “During these events, the role of sanitation personnel becomes even more critical. I trust that each of you will uphold the high standards expected under this initiative,” CM Dhami added.

The Chief Minister also congratulated candidates who recently cleared the prestigious Civil Services Examination conducted by the UPSC. Meeting them at his private residence in Nagla Tarai, CM Dhami acknowledged their hard work and dedication, saying their achievements would inspire youth across the state. The officers were felicitated with books, gifts, and shawls.

In addition, CM Dhami praised Lata Bisht, District Tourism Development Officer, for successfully leading a mountaineering expedition to Mount Chandra Bhaga-13 (6,264 meters) and Mount Chandra Bhaga-14 (6,074 meters), organized by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. She was presented with a shawl and certificate of appreciation for her contribution to tourism promotion.

This initiative is part of the broader Uttarakhand sanitation initiative, which aims to maintain cleanliness, support tourism, and create a healthier environment for residents and visitors alike. By strengthening sanitation infrastructure and deploying trained personnel, the government is ensuring that the state remains a prime destination for pilgrims and tourists.
