Pushkar Singh Dhami announces higher pensions and honors Uttarakhand statehood activists ahead of the 25th Foundation Day celebrations.
The chief minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, declared on Saturday that campaigners who battled for the state’s formation would receive higher pensions.
Additionally, he disclosed that important infrastructure structures in their regions would be named in honor of those who died during the revolution.
Dhami made the revelations the day before the 25th Foundation Day of the state, during an event in Dehradun.
Statehood advocates who were injured during the campaign or who were imprisoned for at least seven days will receive a pension rise from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per month, according to the chief minister.

Dhami also declared that other activists will now receive pensions that are Rs 5,500 per month instead of Rs 4,500.
The pension for activists who were hurt or rendered totally incapacitated during the protests would also be increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 per month, he added, and they will receive medical assistance for their treatment.
According to the chief minister, the pension for dependents of activists murdered during the movement will be raised from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,500 per month.
By placing flowers at the Martyrs’ Memorial at the court complex, Dhami honored the movement’s martyrs. The relatives of those slain during the agitation at the Police Lines and state activists were also honored by him.
The activists were sprayed with flowers during the event by a chopper.
On this occasion, the chief minister urged the state’s citizens to honor the activists by lighting five lamps in their houses on State Foundation Day.
