Pushkar Singh Dhami Says New Labor Codes Will Transform Work Culture, Boost Investment

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami praises India’s new labor laws, calling them a historic step toward worker security, women empowerment, and investment growth.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, declared on Saturday that the central government’s labor reforms mark the start of a new era for the nation’s workers. According to him, the adoption of the four labor laws is a significant step in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of an independent India. The Chief Minister stated that the nation’s workplace culture is undergoing a significant shift and congratulated Prime Minister Modi for these improvements.

CM Dhami claims that the new labor laws will be crucial in ensuring that the nation’s 40 crore workers receive social security. He claimed that under the previous system, unorganized sector workers were mostly exempt from the law and were unable to take advantage of basic entitlements like social security and prompt compensation. At the same time, a significant population was impacted by the minimum wage regulations that were restricted to specific localities.

“The earlier labour law affected trade and foreign investment.”

The Chief Minister added that previous labor rules had made it difficult to do business and had a detrimental effect on foreign investment. The ancient ‘Inspector Raj’ system still caused problems for traders and companies. In light of this, the federal government has implemented extensive labor changes, marking a significant and decisive move.

According to Dhami, the new labor regulations’ provisions firmly safeguard workers’ interests. Unprecedented measures to improve workers’ rights include mandatory appointment letter dissemination, prompt payments, and universal minimum wages. Allowing women to work night shifts, equal pay, and equal opportunity is also a significant step in empowering the female workforce.

He claimed that mandated free yearly health testing for workers, giving fixed-term employees a gratuity after a year of service, and guaranteeing complete health protection in dangerous jobs are all crucial steps for workers’ safety and wellbeing.

“New laws will benefit workers and industries.”

In addition to giving workers social security and a better working environment, the Chief Minister claimed that these reforms would also foster an atmosphere that is favorable to business and trade. This will stimulate economic activity and raise public investment. Dhami said he is confident that the new labor regulations will help industries and workers in Uttarakhand and around the nation.
