Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches “Uttarakhand ka Kisan – Uttarakhand ka Gaurav” campaign, honors farmers, and announces ₹1,000 crore farm projects.
As part of the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday opened a sizable Farmers’ Conference at G B Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar.
The Chief Minister presented keepsakes, certificates of recognition, and traditional shawls to Lakhpati Didis and forward-thinking farmers from the fields of agriculture, horticulture, dairy, fisheries, and cooperatives during the program. Ganesh Joshi, the minister of agriculture, attended the event as well.
The Chief Minister wished all farmers a happy Silver Jubilee of Uttarakhand’s statehood, stating that the “true strength and wealth of the state are the hard work and dedication of farmers.”
He honored all of the farmers who, over the past 25 years, had contributed to making Uttarakhand “self-reliant” and achieving the state’s founding aim.
He made it clear that this “conference is not merely a discussion” on programs pertaining to agriculture, but rather acts as a thank you to the farming community and their families.

According to the Chief Minister, “only when farmers are empowered can the country and state develop in a balanced manner.” “The dream of a strong nation remains incomplete without the empowerment of farmers,” CM Dhami stated.
He claimed that because India has historically been an agrarian nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India can only come to pass “when the farmers progress.”
The Chief Minister talked about his own relationship to farming and how it has influenced our culture, holidays, and customs.
The Chief Minister emphasized that since 2014, extraordinary progress has been made toward the advancement of farmers under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The Prime Minister is adamant that the nation’s greatest strength is the trust of farmers,” CM Dhami stated.
According to him, the central government is dedicated to giving Indian farmers access to the same cutting-edge amenities as those found in wealthy nations.
“Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, 11 crore farmers nationwide are currently receiving financial assistance, including roughly 9 lakh farmers in Uttarakhand,” CM Dhami continued.
He said that the government has made sure farmers enjoy security and fair prices by implementing measures like raising the Minimum Support Prices and offering crop insurance through the PM Fasal Bima Yojana.
“Farmers are being informed about soil nutrients and fertilizer needs to improve productivity and soil fertility through the Soil Health Card Scheme,” CM Dhami stated.
He went on to say that the state government offers farmers interest-free loans of up to Rs 3 lakh and that farmers can obtain up to 80% of the cost of agricultural equipment through the Farm Machinery Bank Scheme.
Canal irrigation has also been rendered entirely free of charge. Approximately 350 polyhouses have already been created under the Rs 200 crore allocation for polyhouse building, according to CM Dhami.
The Uttarakhand Climate Responsive Rain-Fed Farming Project, which is worth Rs 1,000 crore and aims to improve rain-fed agriculture in hill districts, has been authorized by the state, the chief minister added.
In order to encourage horticulture, CM Dhami added, “new policies have been implemented with up to 80 percent subsidy for apple, kiwi, dragon fruit, and millets.”
He emphasized that in order to boost farmers’ incomes, facilities for food processing, cold storage, beekeeping, mushrooms, and mega food parks are being expanded.
He pointed out that Uttarakhand now ranks fifth in the nation for mushroom output, which rose from 500 MT at the time of state formation to over 27,000 MT now.
The state now ranks ninth in the country for honey production, which is also increasing. With the expansion of tea planting from 196 hectares to 1,585 hectares and the promotion of tea tourism in Kausani, Shyamkhet, Ghorakhal, and Silingtok, new job opportunities are being created, according to CM Dhami.
According to the Chief Minister, the state is starting the “Uttarakhand ka Kisan – Uttarakhand ka Gaurav” (The Farmer of Uttarakhand – The Pride of Uttarakhand) campaign during the Silver Jubilee Year. In order to transform Uttarakhand into a modern, self-sufficient, and successful agricultural state, he pushed everyone to cooperate

Ganesh Joshi, the minister of agriculture, also spoke at the event and wished everyone a happy Silver Jubilee. He claimed that horticulture and agriculture have advanced remarkably during the past 25 years. According to him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is just as dedicated to the well-being of farmers as he is to the soldiers who protect the country. He emphasized that through livelihood groups and self-employment programs, over 1.65 lakh women in the state have become Lakhpati Didis.
The state is moving quickly under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, according to local MLA Tilak Raj Behar, who presided over the program. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for deciding to fix the roads in Pantnagar and for approving an industrial park in Kichha.
