Anganwadi Workers to Get ₹1 Lakh Retirement Support From Next Year

Uttarakhand government announces ₹1 lakh minimum retirement support for Anganwadi workers from next fiscal year, replacing existing ₹40,000 aid.

‘Beginning with the new fiscal year, Anganwadi workers would receive a minimum of Rs 1 lakh in support upon retirement. Departmental Minister Rekha Arya gave directives in this regard following the agreement with the Anganwadi workers’ associations.

“Currently, Anganwadi workers receive between 35 and 40 thousand rupees upon their retirement,” the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Development stated at a meeting in the HRDC auditorium in the Secretariat. The Anganwadi staff’ approval was also needed because they were expected to contribute three hundred rupees a month to augment this. This will benefit Anganwadi workers who retire on April 1st of next year.

According to the Minister, the Ekal Mahila Swarozgar Yojana has so far approved 504 bids from six districts. under other districts the application procedure is still under progress. In the first week of January, the program will take place to distribute funding to approved 504 applicants. The meeting also reviewed the Nanda Gaura Yojana. According to the Minister, the number of applications received under this plan has reached a record high of over 45,000 this year.

Since the application deadline is December 20, more applications may be submitted. In the meeting on January 15, he instructed the qualified candidates to disburse the funds. He stated that an announcement about the elevation of Anganwadi staff for 88 positions would be made within a week.

A plan to assist elderly ladies is also planned for next year. They have pointed the authorities to this. The scheme has access to an eight-crore rupee fund. Departmental secretary Chandresh Kumar Yadav, director Bansi Lal Rana, deputy director Vikram Singh, and Neetu Phulera were present during the meeting.
