The Untold Story Behind Punjab’s Education Revolution and Top Results

Punjab is witnessing a remarkable transformation in its education sector, with government schools achieving historic results in the 10th and 12th board exams. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann celebrated this milestone by felicitating the state’s top performers at his official residence in Chandigarh, emphasizing that these achievements signal a bright future for the youth and the state’s progress toward a prosperous “Rangla Punjab.”
In his address, CM Mann praised the revolutionary changes introduced by his government in the education system. The results underscore the success of these reforms, with rural government schools recording an impressive 96.09% pass rate and urban schools close behind at 94%—figures unprecedented in Punjab’s history.
Highlighting the depth of this success, Mann revealed that nearly 1,000 high schools out of 3,840 achieved a 100% pass rate, a testament to the widespread improvements across the state. This achievement is made even more striking when compared to neighboring Haryana, where many schools struggled with poor outcomes.
A notable feature of the results is that many toppers hail from small villages and remote areas, showing that quality education is reaching every corner of Punjab. Mann also spotlighted 26 students who are budding athletes, balancing sports with academic excellence, demonstrating the well-rounded development the state aims to nurture.
The Chief Minister extended heartfelt thanks to parents and teachers, calling educators “unsung heroes” whose perseverance has driven these results. He also praised the outstanding performance of girls, attributing it to the government’s dedicated efforts to empower young women through education.
Congratulating the successful students, Mann urged them to serve as role models and continue striving for higher education and greater achievements. He reassured that the government is committed to providing the best educational environment, especially for girls, to help them realize their full potential.
Mann also reflected on Punjab’s resilient spirit and its legacy of excellence, highlighting Punjabis’ global success—from engineers at Boeing to leaders in major corporations. He stressed that the youth have immense potential, and the government will act as their launchpad to success.
The Chief Minister encouraged young people to stay humble, work hard, and believe in the opportunities Punjab offers for growth and prosperity.
Addressing another pressing issue, Mann spoke candidly about Punjab’s drug problem, calling it a grim legacy of past neglect. He called on students and society at large to join the government’s campaign, “Yudh Nasheyan Virudh,” aimed at eradicating drug abuse and restoring the state’s pride.
With education soaring and youth empowerment at the forefront, Punjab’s future looks brighter than ever under CM Mann’s leadership.
