Redmi K100 Pro Max Cancelled, Company Working on New K-Series Flagship Instead

Leak suggests Redmi may drop Pro Max branding and introduce a new K-series flagship under a fresh identity

by Tamanna

Redmi is reportedly preparing a major shake-up in its flagship lineup, with new leaks suggesting that the anticipated Redmi K100 Pro Max may no longer launch as planned. Instead, the company appears to be shifting toward a refreshed branding approach for its next-generation K-series devices.

According to a leak from China, the internal project previously known as Q11U—believed to be linked to the Redmi K100 Pro Max—has been cancelled. This move indicates that Redmi is actively reconsidering its flagship strategy and may introduce an entirely new device under a different identity.

Redmi K100 Pro Max reportedly cancelled as new direction emerges

The biggest surprise in the leak is the cancellation of the Redmi K100 Pro Max name itself. Instead of continuing with the traditional “Pro Max” branding, Redmi is said to be testing a new codename, “Q11X,” for its upcoming flagship.

Industry speculation suggests that the Redmi K100 Pro Max could be replaced by a rebranded model such as the Redmi K100 Ultra, though nothing has been officially confirmed. This change hints that Redmi is rethinking how it positions its top-tier K-series smartphones in an increasingly competitive flagship market.

replacement may feature next-gen hardware

Earlier expectations around the Redmi K100 Pro Max included high-end specifications such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. While the new device remains unconfirmed, it is expected that Redmi will continue targeting premium performance hardware for its upcoming flagship replacement.

The shift away from the Redmi K100 Pro Max branding suggests that Redmi is not only changing naming conventions but also possibly refining its overall product strategy for future flagship releases.

Redmi K90 Pro Max still stands as a powerful benchmark

While attention shifts to the upcoming lineup, the Redmi K90 Pro Max continues to serve as a strong reference point. It features a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

The Redmi K90 Pro Max also offers up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and a triple 50MP rear camera setup. Its massive 7,560mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging further strengthens its position in the premium segment.

Redmi K100 Pro Max future still uncertain

As of now, the future of the Redmi K100 Pro Max remains uncertain, with leaks pointing toward a complete rebranding or replacement. If true, Redmi’s next flagship could arrive under a new identity, marking a significant shift in its K-series strategy. For now, all eyes remain on how the Redmi K100 Pro Max replacement will be positioned in the global smartphone market.
