Punjab Anti Drug Crackdown : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday presented a detailed Punjab Law and Order Report Card, showcasing the AAP government’s achievements in tackling drugs, organized crime, and strengthening policing over the past four years.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister said the state has witnessed significant improvements in safety, governance, and investor confidence due to strict enforcement and reforms.
Over 95,000 Arrested Under Punjab Anti Drug Crackdown
Highlighting the Punjab Anti Drug Crackdown drive, Bhagwant Singh Mann said the government’s zero-tolerance policy has delivered strong results under the Punjab Law and Order Report Card.
“Since March 2022, 95,881 drug smugglers and suppliers have been arrested, and over 71,000 FIRs have been registered under the NDPS Act,” he stated.
Authorities have also seized large quantities of narcotics, including heroin, opium, and synthetic drugs, while properties worth ₹772 crore linked to drug traffickers have been confiscated.
Yudh Nashean Virudh Strengthens Anti-Drug Campaign
The Chief Minister credited the ongoing Punjab Anti Drug Crackdown initiative for intensifying the crackdown. He noted that the campaign has dismantled supply chains and targeted drug networks across the state.
The Punjab Law and Order Report Card highlights that more than 1,100 gangs have been busted, and thousands of criminals have been brought to justice as part of this mission-mode effort.
Anti-Gangster Task Force Delivers Major Results
Detailing action against organized crime, Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested 2,858 criminals and neutralized several key operatives.

The Punjab Law and Order Report Card also reveals that 2,267 weapons and hundreds of vehicles used in criminal activities have been recovered, significantly weakening gang networks.
Punjab Installs Anti-Drone System to Stop Cross-Border Smuggling
Emphasizing border security, the Chief Minister said Punjab has installed an anti-drone system using its own resources after the Centre declined funding.
The system has detected over 1,400 drone movements and helped recover weapons and contraband, strengthening the findings of the Punjab Law and Order Report Card.
Police Reforms and Modernisation Drive
Underlining improvements in policing, Bhagwant Singh Mann said over 12,000 recruitments have been made in the police force over the past four years.
Additionally, thousands of new vehicles have been inducted, and modernisation efforts have enhanced the operational capabilities of Punjab Police, as reflected in the Punjab Law and Order Report Card.
Sadak Surakhya Force Reduces Highway Fatalities by 48%
The Chief Minister also highlighted the success of the Sadak Surakhya Force, India’s first dedicated road safety unit.
Since its launch, the force has reduced highway fatalities by 48% and assisted thousands of accident victims, marking a significant achievement in public safety.
Rising Investments Reflect Improved Law and Order
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that improving law and order is attracting major investments to Punjab.
He cited the establishment of a ₹3,200 crore steel plant and increasing interest from global companies as proof that the state is becoming a preferred investment destination.
CM Targets Previous Governments
Taking a dig at opposition parties, the Chief Minister said leaders who allegedly supported gangster culture in the past cannot now claim to fix the situation.
He asserted that the current government remains committed to ensuring safety, justice, and development for all citizens.
The Punjab Law and Order Report Card presents a comprehensive picture of the state’s progress in tackling crime and improving governance. With continued focus on enforcement, reforms, and public safety, the Punjab government aims to further strengthen law and order in the coming years.
