One-Stop Help Desk: CM Mann Opens First-Ever Facilitation Centre in Dhuri

Imagine a place where you don’t have to run from one government office to another, wait in endless lines, or make repeat visits just to get your pension form approved or update your Aadhaar. Sounds too good to be true.

Not anymore—at least not for the people of Dhuri, Punjab.

In a first-of-its-kind move aimed at reshaping how citizens interact with the government, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Facilitation Centre in Dhuri on Wednesday. This brand-new facility promises to bring together essential services under one roof—efficiently, transparently, and with people at the center.

“This center isn’t just a building. It’s a bridge between the government and the people,” said CM Mann at the inauguration.

What’s the Big Idea?

Simply put, this center acts as a single-window system for government services. Whether you need to apply for a pension scheme, update your Aadhaar card, get a labor card issued, or submit forms for health benefits like Ayushman Bharat or Ashirwad schemes, you can do it all here—without running pillar to post.

And it’s not just paperwork.

Need to apply for a passport, get a character certificate, or request an FIR copy? The center works in tandem with Saanjh Kendras to process police-related documents too.

Inside the Centre: Services Made Simple

The Facilitation Centre, built at a cost of ₹1.21 crore, features six service counters, a reception desk, and even a meeting-cum-conference hall. A Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officer will oversee operations, ensuring things run smoothly and that citizens are actually heard.

Departments like Health, Revenue, Social Security, Police, and Administration will have their representatives available—making inter-department coordination easier and faster.

“This is a model of governance that keeps the citizen at the heart of it,” CM Mann said. “No more unnecessary back-and-forth. The center will follow up with departments until your task is done.”

Why It Matters

Punjab currently offers 443 services through its various service centers. But for many residents, particularly in smaller towns and villages, accessing those services meant facing delays, bureaucracy, and long-distance travel. This new facility could change that.

More than just convenience, it’s about restoring trust in public systems.

“This center is a step toward reducing harassment in government offices. It should become a beacon of hope for the common person,” Mann said with optimism.

Bottom Line

This may be a small building in a small town, but its impact could be monumental. If successful, this people-first governance model might just become the blueprint for administrative reform across Punjab—and perhaps even beyond.

For the citizens of Dhuri, it’s not just about services—it’s about dignity, access, and being heard.
