Arvind Kejriwal Slams Centre Over Heavy LPG Shortage India 2026, Warns of Impact on Households and Businesses

Delh : AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday raised serious concerns over the ongoing LPG shortage India 2026, blaming the Centre for the heavy scarcity affecting households, restaurants, and hotels across the country.

Speaking to the media, the former Delhi Chief Minister said, “There is a chance that almost 1 crore people could face unemployment due to the emerging power and LPG shortage situation.” He added, “Restaurants and hotels are facing severe shortages. In the next two days, nearly 50% of hotels in Delhi NCR and Bihar are on the verge of shutting down because of the LPG shortage India 2026.”

Heavy LPG Imports Through Strait of Hormuz Make India Vulnerable, Says Kejriwal

Mr. Kejriwal criticized the government for relying heavily on imports, noting that “90% of the LPG imported in India comes through the Strait of Hormuz, which makes the country vulnerable to global supply disruptions.”

The AAP leader also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy, claiming it has deviated from India’s long-standing non-aligned approach. “PM Modi has made a mistake by demolishing India’s non-aligned policy of 75 years. Aligning with Israel and the U.S. before the conflict began has made Iran an adversary,” said Mr. Kejriwal.

“Non-Aligned Policy Shift Contributes to LPG Shortage India 2026, Says Kejriwal

He emphasized that India’s historical non-aligned foreign policy, even during the Cold War era, ensured balanced relations with multiple global powers, which he believes is now being compromised, contributing indirectly to energy and LPG supply vulnerabilities.

Experts warn that the LPG shortage India 2026 could further affect daily life, hotel operations, and small businesses if timely measures are not taken. Kejriwal urged the government to adopt immediate corrective steps to mitigate the crisis and protect both consumers and businesses from prolonged shortages.
