UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya claims Nitish Kumar will return as Bihar CM, calling Mahagathbandhan’s announcement fake ahead of 2025 polls.
Patna: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Bihar election co-incharge Keshav Prasad Maurya on Tuesday stated Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will become the CM in the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, branding the Mahagathbandhan’s declaration “fake.”
While speaking with reporters, he stated, “The Mahagathbandhan‘s announcements are bogus… Nitish Kumar will return as Bihar’s Chief Minister on November 14th. “The Mahagathbandhan is being wiped out.”
Earlier, Janata Dal (United) leader Arun Kumar expressed optimism on Tuesday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win a two-thirds majority, claiming that Bihar’s people choose a government focused on positivity and progress.
Arun Kumar told that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar caravan should keep traveling.
“The masses believe that persons with a positive mental attitude and a desire to grow should remain in government. PM Modi and Nitish Kumar’s caravan should continue to move. “The NDA will win a 2-3rd majority in the elections,” Arun Kumar predicted.
These allegations followed a declaration by Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) National President Mukesh Sahni, who stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar cannot be granted state responsibility due to health difficulties. He also asked people to allow young politicians to take charge.

“There is a tsunami of transformation throughout the state. People in 2005 believed he should be given a chance… In 2010, he did some development in the state. He became Chief Minister in 2015 with the support of Lalu Yadav because he had any other credentials. In 2020, he became CM with the help of the BJP and VIP… We have no complaints from him, but because he is ill, he cannot be assigned the duty of the entire state’s population,” he explained.
In the 2025 Bihar elections, the National Democratic Alliance will face off against the Mahagathbandhan. The Bharatiya Janata Party, the Janata Dal (United), the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha make up the National Democratic Alliance.
The Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD, consists of the Congress Party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML), led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani’s VIP.
Additionally, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has filed for all 243 seats in the state.
The assembly elections in Bihar are set for November 6 and 11, with results announced on November 14.
