Patna: The question of Bihar CM succession has once again ignited political discussions following Nitish Kumar’s election to the Rajya Sabha. The political corridors are abuzz with speculation about who will take over as the next Chief Minister of Bihar.

Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) MP Pappu Yadav has publicly demanded that Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, should be appointed as the next Chief Minister. Speaking to the media in Patna on Friday, Pappu Yadav said, “Nitish Kumar still has the opportunity—first make Nishant the Chief Minister. Two years can be run by JD(U) and two years by BJP. First give Nishant his chance. Later, BJP can take over. Whether Nitish ji or Nishant will be able to manage it later, I don’t know. But the people’s mandate is clear, and if Nitish Kumar wants to step down, he must give Nishant the post.”

Party Leadership Yet to Decide as JD(U) Workers Push for Nishant Kumar in Bihar CM Succession Debate

Pappu Yadav’s comments have added fuel to the ongoing debate over Bihar CM succession. JD(U) workers have also been advocating for Nishant Kumar to take over as Chief Minister. However, both JD(U) and BJP have clarified that the decision regarding the next CM will be taken by their top leadership.

In the same session, Pappu Yadav criticized the Election Commission of India, accusing it of acting as a “BJP stooge.” He specifically targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, claiming that he has created a constitutional crisis. Pappu Yadav said, “The CEC has no regard for the Constitution, Indian values, dignity, or ethics. He is working like a mere peon. The Election Commission has become like a guard for BJP offices, and an impeachment motion should be immediately brought against him.”

As political speculation continues, the issue of Bihar CM succession is likely to dominate headlines in the coming days. Analysts suggest that with both BJP and JD(U) leadership yet to finalize their decision, the pressure from party workers and leaders like Pappu Yadav could influence the outcome.

The coming weeks will be crucial for Bihar politics as the state watches closely who will emerge as the next leader and shape the political landscape.
