Purnia/Katihar, Bihar: In a significant move to accelerate growth in the state, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the Bihar development plan 2026 during his visit to Purnia and Katihar on Thursday as part of the Samriddhi Yatra. The plan aims to bring transformative changes in key sectors including education, health, roads, and sports.
Addressing the public, CM Nitish Kumar emphasized that after systemic changes supported by the central government, Bihar is moving rapidly towards a new era of development. “With the Bihar development plan 2026, every sector will be strengthened, enabling the state to achieve unprecedented progress in the coming years,” he said.
Education Reforms Under Bihar Development Plan 2026
The Chief Minister announced plans to open Adarsh Schools and Degree Colleges in every block of the state. This initiative under the Bihar development plan 2026 will allow students in rural areas to access quality education locally, reducing the need to travel far for higher studies. The roadmap aims to establish ideal schools and colleges as centers of excellence, creating equal opportunities for all students.

The Chief Minister also revealed plans to build a modern sports city in Patna, providing advanced training facilities and infrastructure for athletes. The Bihar development plan 2026 includes schemes to provide government jobs to sportspersons, promoting sports and encouraging young talent across the state.
Agricultural Support and Central Assistance
CM Nitish Kumar highlighted that Bihar is receiving strong support from the central government to implement development projects. Special schemes are planned for Makhana farmers to enhance their income and support sustainable agriculture.
During the programme, Minister Leshi Singh became emotional while reflecting on her political journey, bringing a heartfelt moment to the event. The Chief Minister also praised Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary and expressed confidence that the state’s developmental momentum will continue under the Bihar development plan 2026.
