CM Yogi Adityanath Conducts Review Meeting to Ensure Seamless Presidential Visit

Ayodhy : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting on Thursday at the CFC Auditorium in Ayodhya to ensure all arrangements are in place for President Droupadi Murmu visit Ayodhya. The historic visit is scheduled for March 19, during which the President will offer prayers at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, coinciding with the first day of the Hindu New Year, officials confirmed.

Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde stated that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is organizing the event. “The Commissioner, ADG, and DIG have held a meeting with officials from all departments. Everyone has received instructions and is working accordingly. The program on the 19th will be conducted smoothly,” he said.

To ensure seamless darshan for devotees, Funde explained that temple authorities will not issue any VVIP or special passes. “The temple will open an hour earlier on that day and darshan will continue until late at night. Darshan will only be briefly paused during the President Droupadi Murmu visit Ayodhya for puja ceremonies, while other rituals will continue uninterrupted,” he added.

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the ‘Jal Mahotsav 2026’, highlighting the importance of water as not just a basic amenity, but as a vital part of India’s culture, traditions, and livelihoods. She said, “For many years, villagers, especially women and children, had to fetch drinking water from distant sources. Providing clean water is not just convenience, it is a matter of time, health, and dignity.”

The President praised the Government of India’s Jal Jeevan Mission, which delivers clean and safe water directly to rural homes. “When responsibility for water resources is shared by the government and society, conservation becomes sustainable. Community ownership plays a vital role in water management,” she added, underlining the importance of citizen participation.

She also recognized the role of Self-Help Groups in driving positive change in water security and community welfare. “Harnessing the potential of women through Self-Help Groups has led to meaningful outcomes in society. Their involvement is critical for sustainable water management,” President Murmu stated.

The Ministry of Jal Shakti is organizing Jal Mahotsav 2026, running from March 8 to March 22, to strengthen Jan Bhagidari and promote community ownership in rural drinking water services under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This initiative complements the upcoming President Droupadi Murmu visit Ayodhya, highlighting the government’s commitment to both cultural heritage and sustainable development.
