Bihar CM Nitish Kumar cites law & order improvements since 2005; Tejashwi Yadav urges change ahead of upcoming assembly elections.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, stated on Sunday that since his government came to power in November 2005, the state’s law and order has improved and that living in Bihar is now a source of pride.
Nitish Kumar claimed that crime and corruption were pervasive in the state before to 2005 in a post on X. He said that his government had made reestablishing law and order a top priority and had implemented a zero tolerance policy for corruption and criminal activity. “The state is no longer characterized by a climate of fear or horror. The people of the state now take pleasure in being Bihari,” he stated.

Taking aim at the INDIA bloc, Kumar said that there was rampant lawlessness prior to 2005 without mentioning any specific leaders. He claimed that automobiles were looted, women were not safe, kidnappings were frequent, and people were scared to leave the house after six o’clock. He further mentioned that professionals were leaving the state and that extortion had forced the closure of companies and businesses.
“Even wealthy people were opposed to building new homes. Businesses and industries had closed as a result of extortionist fear. Engineers and doctors were leaving the state, according to Kumar.
“The whole system had fallen apart. The state of law and order in Bihar did not exist. The powerful directly shielded crime. Residents of the state were compelled to live in constant fear. At the time, being a Bihari was viewed as an insult, the CM wrote.

Kumar further claimed that morale was low and that the police at the time lacked trucks and sophisticated weapons. There are currently more than 1,380 police stations, up from 817 in 2005, he said. In 2005, there were 42,481 police officers.
He went on to say that women have been granted a 35% reservation in the police force since 2013, and that the Bihar Police now has the highest female involvement rate in the nation. Additionally, he proposed the creation of the ‘Tribal Women’s Pride Battalion’ to empower women and assure their protection.
The people of Bihar, according to Kumar, made the decision to prioritize development in 2005. According to him, Bihar is developing under the current administration, industries are expanding, and the state now offers more job prospects.
Voters are urged to give his party a chance by Tejashwi Yadav.
Tejashwi Yadav also posted a video of himself asking for a chance to establish a new administration and declaring that Bihar is ready for change just hours before Nitish Kumar’s post on X. The current government’s two-decade dominance, he said, is like stagnant water that ruins the crop and the field. “When the same seed is planted in the same field for 20 years, the crop and the field are destroyed. Tejashwi added, “This government has also impacted two generations of Bihar.

Tejashwi further stated that there are no complaints against him and that he has not hurt anyone. He said, “You gave the NDA 20 years, just give us 20 months,” urging voters to give his party a chance. Together, we will transform Biharis’ lives and create a new Bihar.
