New Delhi: In honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended an invitation to participate in the “Run for Unity” on October 31 in observance of Rastriya Ekta Diwas.
“Join the Run for Unity on October 31st and celebrate the spirit of togetherness!” PM Modi wrote in a post on X. Let’s honor Sardar Patel’s dream of an India that is unified.
India will commemorate Sardar Patel’s 150th birthday this year. Additionally, PM Modi retweeted a post from Ekta Diwas Bharat urging everyone to join the “Run for Unity” in huge numbers.

“Our diversity is India’s soul, and Sardar Patel woven it into unity,” the message said. PM Modi continues this vision. Join the Run for Unity, commemorate his 150th birthday, and uplift the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat!
Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi honored Sardar Patel, dubbed the “Iron Man of India,” for his commitment to the liberation movement during his monthly radio show, “Mann Ki Baat.” India owes Sardar Patel a debt of gratitude for his important work as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, he remarked.
For the entire nation, Sardar Patel’s 150th birthday is a very momentous occasion. According to PM Modi, Sardar Patel is among the country’s brightest luminaries of the modern era.
The Prime Minister emphasized Patel’s “towering personality” and stated, “He was an exceptionally brilliant student.” He was a brilliant student in India and Britain. In addition, he was among the most prosperous attorneys of his era. He had the opportunity to achieve even greater success in the legal profession, but he gave his all to the cause of independence after being inspired by Gandhiji.
His support of many movements, including as the “Kheda Satyagraha” and the “Borsad Satyagraha,” is still honored today. He also held a historic position as the head of the Ahmedabad Municipality. He placed a high value on hygiene and responsible leadership. For his work as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, we will all always be grateful to him,” PM Modi stated.
He added that Sardar Patel made “unparalleled efforts for the unity and integrity” of the nation and established a solid basis for India’s governmental structure. India holds an annual event named “Run For Unity” to commemorate Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary. This event honors the Iron Man of India and promotes fitness by bringing together runners of all skill levels in multiple locations throughout the nation.
