The Swasth Bharat Portal has been launched as a major step in India’s ongoing digital healthcare transformation. Introduced during the 10th National Summit on Innovation and Inclusivity, the platform was unveiled by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda, aiming to modernise and unify the country’s public health ecosystem.
The introduction of the Swasth Bharat Portal marks a shift towards an integrated, efficient, and technology-driven healthcare delivery system.
Unified Platform for Digital Health Services
The Swasth Bharat Portal has been designed to bring together multiple existing digital health applications under one integrated system. Earlier, various programmes under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) operated independently, leading to fragmented data and duplicated processes.
With the Swasth Bharat Portal, these systems are now being connected through an API-based federated architecture, ensuring better interoperability and smoother data flow across programmes.
Single Interface for Healthcare Workers
A key feature of the Swasth Bharat Portal is its single-window access for frontline healthcare workers such as ASHAs, ANMs, CHOs, and Medical Officers.

The platform reduces the burden of multiple logins and repetitive data entry, allowing healthcare workers to focus more on service delivery. It also provides real-time data visualisation tools for better planning and monitoring at the grassroots level.
Integration with ABDM and National Registries
The Swasth Bharat Portal is fully compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). It integrates with ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), enabling secure digital exchange of health records.
It is also expected to connect with key national registries such as the Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR), strengthening India’s digital health infrastructure.
Improved Efficiency and Cost Reduction
The Swasth Bharat Portal is designed to significantly improve efficiency across the healthcare system. It aims to reduce infrastructure duplication, minimise repetitive data entry, and streamline human resource deployment.
Expected outcomes include:
- 20–30% reduction in infrastructure requirements
- 20–40% reduction in data entry workload
- 20–40% reduction in HR duplication
- Faster and data-driven decision-making
A Step Towards Digital Healthcare Transformation
The Swasth Bharat Portal represents a transformative shift towards a unified, scalable, and data-driven public health system in India. By integrating multiple programmes into a single digital platform, it strengthens healthcare delivery and improves governance efficiency across the country.
