Kolkata – West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday accused the BJP of attempting voter manipulation in Bengal, claiming the saffron party is trying to include illegal voters from Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to influence the state assembly polls.
Addressing a massive election rally in Chandrakona, Paschim Medinipur, Banerjee urged voters to consider her as the candidate across all 294 seats, instead of focusing on individual TMC nominees.
Claims of BJP Voter Manipulation Bengal
Banerjee stated that her son, Abhishek Banerjee, had informed her about nearly 30,000 voter forms submitted in a single day, which raised concerns of systematic voter tampering. “The BJP is trying voter manipulation in Bengal by transporting out-of-state voters via railways, as they did in Bihar,” she alleged.

The TMC leader further accused the BJP of collaborating with the Election Commission to delete names of women and minorities from voter lists under the SIR (Systematic Information Revision) exercise, calling it an attack on the constitutional and democratic rights of West Bengal residents.
Protecting Bengal’s Culture and Rights
Banerjee also warned that the BJP could impose restrictions on non-vegetarian food if it comes to power, threatening Bengal’s cultural identity. She strongly opposed the NRC, alleging that the BJP plans to target certain citizens for detention.
“The BJP and EC are trying voter manipulation in Bengal and snatching the citizenship, constitutional, and democratic rights of people. We will fight them every inch of the way,” Banerjee asserted.
