Jaipur hosts 78th Army Day Parade with Arjun tanks, BrahMos missiles, mounted cavalry, and posthumous gallantry awards by Army Chief Gen. Dwivedi.
Jaipur : The 78th Army Day Parade, which started on the Mahal Road here on Thursday in the presence of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, featured cutting-edge military systems, armored vehicles, and BrahMos missiles.
Prior to the procession, Subedar Major Pawan Kumar, Hawaldar Sunil Kumar, Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar, Lance Naik Subhash Kumar, and Lance Naik Pradeep Kumar were all given posthumous Sena Medal gallantry honors by the Chief of Army Staff.
The parade commander, Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, and the recipients saluted after the award ceremony. The procession was showered with flower petals by three Chetak helicopters.

While advanced weapon systems and armored vehicles, like as Arjun tanks, K-9 Vajra, Dhanush artillery cannons, BMPs, and BrahMos missiles, were on exhibit in the parade, mounted troopers from the 61st Cavalry showcased their military legacy.
The event also features various ministers, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, and others.
In 1949, General K M Cariappa, who subsequently rose to the rank of Field Marshal, succeeded his British predecessor as Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. This event is commemorated on Army Day.
