New Delhi: Redmi is reportedly preparing to expand its Turbo smartphone lineup with the launch of the Redmi Turbo 6 and Redmi Turbo 6 Max. According to the latest leaks, the upcoming devices could bring significant improvements in performance, battery capacity, and premium features, making them strong contenders in the upper mid-range smartphone segment.

A fresh leak from well-known Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu suggests that Redmi is developing two new Turbo series smartphones. The report claims both models may feature a massive 7-inch display and an enormous 10,000mAh battery, marking one of the biggest battery upgrades ever seen in the Turbo lineup.

Redmi Turbo 6 may debut with MediaTek Dimensity 8600 chipset

The standard MI Turbo 6 is expected to be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 8600 processor. The chipset is rumored to be built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm manufacturing process, promising improved performance, enhanced power efficiency, and better AI capabilities.

The new processor is also expected to deliver a smoother gaming experience and faster multitasking, positioning the Redmi Turbo 6 as a performance-focused smartphone that offers flagship-level capabilities at a competitive price.

Redmi Turbo 6 Max could bring flagship features

The higher-end MI Turbo 6 Max is tipped to feature the more powerful Dimensity 9600-series chipset. Leaks also suggest the device may include a sharp 2K display, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a premium metal frame.

In addition, Redmi is reportedly planning to equip the Turbo 6 Max with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, making it one of the most durable smartphones in its segment.

10,000mAh battery expected to be the biggest highlight

One of the standout features of the upcoming lineup could be its massive 10,000mAh battery. If the leak proves accurate, the Redmi Turbo 6 series could offer exceptional battery life, making it an attractive option for gamers, content streamers, and users who need extended usage without frequent charging.

While charging specifications remain unknown, industry observers expect Redmi to pair the large battery with fast-charging technology to ensure practical charging times.

Expected launch timeline

MI introduced the Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max earlier this year in China, and the new Redmi Turbo 6 series is expected to succeed those models. According to current reports, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max could launch around January 2027, although the release schedule for the standard Redmi Turbo 6 has not yet been confirmed.

As of now, Xiaomi has not officially announced the Redmi Turbo 6 series. The reported specifications and launch timeline are based on early leaks and may change before the smartphones are officially unveiled.
