iPhone Ultra Price Leak Points to High Pricing Tiers
Apple’s rumoured first foldable device has received detailed cost projections ahead of its official unveiling. Industry reports suggest the smartphone could launch under the new iPhone Ultra moniker. Recent estimates indicate the device will be far more expensive than current flagship models.
The entry-level model with 256GB storage could start around $2,099, which equals roughly Rs 1.98 lakh. Higher storage variants are expected to cost around $2,299, or approximately Rs 2.17 lakh. Meanwhile, the top storage configuration could cross $3,000, which translates to nearly Rs 2.84 lakh.
These projected figures place the device far above the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which launched at $1,199. Consequently, Apple appears ready to target an exclusive luxury market segment.

The iPhone Ultra price leak outlines significant hardware upgrades alongside high pricing. The device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch outer OLED display. Unfolding the phone reveals a larger 7.8-inch OLED main screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, Apple is focusing on a slim chassis while minimizing display crease visibility.
Underneath the glass, the phone will likely run on the A20 Pro chip. TSMC manufactures this processor using an advanced 2nm process. Additionally, 12GB of RAM will support heavy multitasking demands.
Camera features include a 24MP front camera and dual 48MP rear sensors. Interestingly, reports suggest Touch ID may return via a side button sensor instead of Face ID.
Despite these premium hardware specs, foldables remain a tiny market segment. Analysts project foldable devices will account for just 2% of total global smartphone sales in 2026. Therefore, initial production volumes for the iPhone Ultra will stay relatively limited compared to mainstream iPhones.
What Else Apple Is Unveiling This Autumn
Apple is also expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max alongside its foldable device. However, the standard iPhone 18 models will likely arrive later in early 2027.
The autumn flagship lineup will share the A20 Pro chip and offer improved thermal cooling, larger batteries, and upgraded displays. Moreover, the Pro variants may feature a mechanical variable aperture camera. This feature physically adjusts lens openings to control incoming light.
Prices across the broader iPhone 18 family could also increase due to rising component costs. Component tracking firm TrendForce estimates baseline prices may jump 10% to 20%. Memory costs for 256GB Pro models are projected to be nearly 400% higher in Q3 2026 compared to last year.
