New Delhi: The upcoming iQOO 16 launch is expected to bring a major upgrade in performance, gaming capabilities, and battery life. According to reports, iQOO is working on an engineering prototype of the successor to the iQOO 15, which could be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor.
The details were shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, suggesting that the new smartphone will focus heavily on gaming performance, premium audio, and improved endurance.
iQOO 16 Expected to Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro
The biggest highlight of the upcoming iQOO 16 launch could be the inclusion of the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
The processor is expected to feature a new 2+3+3 Oryon CPU architecture with 16MB shared L2 cache. Graphics performance may also see improvements with an upgraded Adreno 850 GPU and 18MB GMEM.
The smartphone is also expected to support advanced memory technologies, including LPDDR6 and LPDDR5X RAM, which could deliver smoother multitasking and enhanced gaming performance.
Dedicated Graphics Chip for Enhanced Gaming
Gaming is likely to remain the biggest focus area of the device. The iQOO 16 is expected to continue the brand’s approach of combining flagship processors with dedicated graphics solutions.
The previous iQOO 15 featured the Q3 supercomputing chip, which supported features like ray tracing, frame interpolation, and upscaling. The upcoming model may bring further improvements with better graphics processing and upgraded thermal management.

Premium Audio and Advanced Security Features
The iQOO 16 launch may also introduce improvements in audio and security features. The smartphone is expected to come with symmetrical dual stereo speakers from the 1115 series, offering an enhanced experience for gaming, entertainment, and music.
For better haptic feedback, the device could feature a 0916-series X-axis linear motor. In terms of security, reports suggest that the smartphone may include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster and more secure unlocking.
Massive 8,500mAh Battery Expected
Battery life could become another major highlight of the upcoming device. The iQOO 16 is rumoured to pack a large 8,500mAh battery, which could provide extended gaming sessions and longer everyday usage.
The smartphone is also expected to feature IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with USB 3.2 fast connectivity support.
iQOO 16 Launch Timeline and India Availability
The iQOO 16 launch is expected to take place in China between September and October, according to reports. However, its availability in India remains uncertain.
Some reports suggest that iQOO may reconsider an India launch due to increasing memory component costs, which could impact the final pricing of the device. The company has not yet made any official announcement regarding the India release.
With flagship-level hardware, gaming-focused features, and a massive battery, the iQOO 16 could become one of the most powerful smartphones in the premium gaming segment if launched globally.
