Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reviews development projects, promotes spiritual tourism, local fairs, winter travel & public welfare initiatives.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, met virtually with state officials and district magistrates to examine the situation. The Chief Minister examined ongoing administrative reforms, the timely resolution of public grievances, and the status of development projects at the meeting. He gave the officials his congratulations for organizing the Silver Jubilee celebration of State Foundation Day so well. CM Dhami went on to say that the Prime Minister and President have given crucial direction for the growth of the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making Uttarakhand the world’s spiritual capital was emphasized by the chief minister.
Enhancing the Local Culture and Economy
According to a release, he emphasized the significance of the ‘One District, One Fair’ campaign and instructed officials to draft a thorough plan for the grand and environmentally responsible operation of fairs that boost the local economy. The fairs chosen under the “One District, One Fair” concept would be known as State Fairs, according to the Chief Minister. This recognition will grant special protection, financial help, and promotional support to the fairs that receive it. The state government will provide the necessary support and assistance, and its current organizers will continue to oversee the activities. In addition to promoting regional arts, crafts, and culture, this project aims to entertain the public and offer chances for community involvement. These will become larger and more appealing if they are designated as State Fairs, which will greatly advance the state’s social and cultural advancement.
‘Spiritual Capital’ vision
The Chief Minister said that expanding yoga, ayurvedic, and meditation centers to the district and block levels is crucial to making Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of both India and the world. One village may be chosen by each block to be transformed into a “Spiritual Village” as part of a trial project. The creation of yoga training centers, Ayurvedic medical facilities, meditation and mental health programs, and local spiritual learning opportunities are all part of this project. In addition to enhancing citizens’ health and well-being, this will provide the state a new identity in the travel and wellness industries.
Improving Border Villages and Tourism
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of routinely monitoring homestay, self-employment, horticulture, agricultural, and solar energy operations in the designated villages under the Vibrant Village Program. He gave the order to promote border communities as tourist destinations and under the Vibrant Village plan, making sure that each one has a distinct draw. He gave officials instructions to encourage year-round travel and hasten the winter Char Dham Yatra preparations. To provide top-notch services for pilgrims and tourists, this entails improving coordination with hoteliers, homestay owners, and other service providers, particularly in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag.

Winter Travel & Exclusive Savings
The Chief Minister instructed the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) and the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) to create and launch exclusive discount packages for the forthcoming winter travel season in order to increase tourism and draw in more tourists. According to the press release, CM Dhami claimed that these packages would increase tourism while also giving residents new job chances.
Infrastructure and Public Welfare
Additionally, he directed the District Magistrates to make substantial use of CSR funding for district-level public welfare projects, giving top priority to those that directly benefit individuals and spur local development.
Winter Preparations and Waste Management
The Chief Minister gave officials instructions to make sure that significant places had enough plans for night shelters, bonfires, and snow removal. Following the conclusion of the winter Char Dham Yatra, the Chief Minister also gave instructions for the efficient disposal of debris that is left on the yatra pathways. In order to prevent pollution of the environment, the relevant departments have been directed to ensure effective waste management. This program seeks to protect religious places’ natural beauty and cleanliness in addition to providing travelers with ease.
Boosting Exports and the Local Economy
The Chief Minister urged the widespread promotion of important initiatives, highlighting the necessity of bolstering the local economy and guaranteeing full growth in both rural and urban areas. He stated that each district should create a thorough action plan for GI-tagged products and that specific actions must be made to make them export-ready. In order to increase local tourism and generate new job possibilities, Dhami also emphasized the necessity of developing tourist sites in each district and development block through specific strategies. In order to maintain a clean and appealing environment for both residents and visitors, the Chief Minister added that horticulture, the creation of green spaces, and cleanliness at bus stops, train stations, and main thoroughfares must be given top priority.
Increasing State Security
To improve internal and national security, the Chief Minister directed frequent district-level verification and inspection efforts. He ordered increased border patrols and more robust security measures at popular tourist destinations. Additionally, he gave officials instructions to make sure that CCTV cameras are fully installed and monitored in real time in key areas and cities. Departments must notify the government and headquarters right away if more personnel, equipment, or resources are needed for security.
Drug Abuse and Monitoring
CCTV cameras will be placed in high-risk areas to prevent drug usage, and a special anti-drug campaign squad will be established under the direction of the DGP.
Administrative Orders and the Welfare of Citizens
The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of promoting horticulture, providing efficient healthcare services, managing stray livestock appropriately, and rigorously addressing land encroachment issues.

District Magistrates were instructed by CM Dhami to create thorough action plans and conduct surveys on the growth of Spiritual Economic Zones in places like Dronagiri in Dwarahat (Almora), Shyamlatal-Devi Dhura (Champawat), and other possible locales.

He also gave officials instructions to handle healthcare services with tact. District Magistrates are required to carry out surprise inspections of district hospitals, swiftly identify any deficiencies, take corrective action, and monitor continuously to guarantee the public receives medical amenities in a timely and efficient manner. The Chief Minister further emphasized the importance of prompt public grievance resolution through BDC meetings and routine monitoring of the CM Helpline. Enhancing Urban Connectivity and Infrastructure
The Chief Minister gave officials instructions to guarantee prompt and efficient solutions in response to the growing traffic congestion in key cities. Additionally, he gave tight instructions to remove potholes from all state highways as soon as possible. According to him, fixing damaged roads need to be a top priority, with particular focus on quality. In order to ensure prompt improvement and safe and easy travel for citizens, the Chief Minister further directed officials to identify regions where roads regularly deteriorate or receive repeated public complaints. These areas should be regularly and specifically monitored. CM Dhami emphasized the need to uphold accountability and openness when overseeing road rehabilitation projects. Additionally, he instructed officials to repair roads, drinking water, and parking at all tourist attractions, bolster law and order, speed preparations for the forthcoming winter travel season, and increase the transparency of administrative processes. He reaffirmed that eliminating potholes from all state highways must be a top priority. In addition, the Chief Minister directed District Magistrates to strictly punish those who issue bogus permanent resident certificates and to confirm those that have been issued within the previous three years.
