CM Pushkar Dhami Opens Baikunth Chaturdashi Fair in Srinagar

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurates Baikunth Chaturdashi Fair in Srinagar, announces key development projects for the Garhwal region.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, virtually opened the Baikunth Chaturdashi Fair in Srinagar, Pauri . This marks the start of the yearly cultural event that attracts visitors and devotees from all across the region.

Dhami took the chance to talk about the state government’s ongoing development projects in Srinagar and the rest of the Garhwal region. He said that work is being done on a number of infrastructure projects, such as the ₹4.88-crore Roadways Bus Station and parking lot, the Ganga Sanskriti Kendra on the Alaknanda River, and the ₹37-crore Madhi–Chauras–Jakhri pumping drinking water plan. To improve city government, Srinagar has also been made a municipal corporation.

The Chief Minister added that the government wants to build a new town near Belkedar and Belkandi, improve the sewer system in all areas under the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, and turn the old Collectorate building into a historic landmark. Other projects include making Gola Park more beautiful and building a path for people to walk to the Dhari Devi temple.

Dhami said that a paramedical and nursing college will soon be built in Srinagar, which is becoming more and more important as an educational center. The land acquisition process is almost over. He also mentioned that a Critical Care Block worth ₹25 crores is being developed at the Base Hospital. This will help patients in the Pauri, Chamoli, Tehri, and Rudraprayag districts.
