Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami mandates Bhagavad Gita recitation in all schools to teach children Indian culture, values, and life philosophy.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, declared on Sunday that reciting passages from the Bhagavad Gita is now required in all of the state’s schools.
According to him, the program’s goal is to help kids grow by introducing them to Indian culture, morals, and life philosophy.
Dhami shared the news on the social media site X, claiming that it will assist children develop their values and character while being entrenched in cultural customs.

The Chief Minister also shared a video of the famous Kattarmal Sun Temple in the Almora district that same day, highlighting Uttarakhand’s cultural legacy.
The temple, which was built during the Katyuri period and is dedicated to Lord Suryadev, is renowned for both its amazing architectural and spiritual value. Dhami encouraged tourists to visit the historic monument during their winter vacations, saying it is a reflection of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage and illustrious past.
The Chief Minister stated in a different post that cultural initiatives like Mahakauthig are essential to maintaining Uttarakhand’s legacy and bringing the state’s non-hill residents together.
Speaking at the Parvatiya Cultural Society’s seven-day Mahakauthig at Noida Stadium in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Dhami expressed delight in the fact that Uttarakhandis residing outside the state are still able to preserve their traditional customs and culture. He referred to them as genuine Uttarakhand brand advocates.

Mahakauthig, according to Dhami, is more than just a cultural event; it is a live platform that transmits folk customs, artistic expressions, and cultural values to the next generation while showcasing the essence of the state.
The Chief Minister went on to say that the state government is still totally dedicated to preserving Devbhoomi Uttarakhand’s cultural and social cohesion and that stringent regulations are being implemented to stop religious conversion, the spread of divisive ideologies, and encroachment on state property.
