UP Muslim Man Fakes Identity, Abducts NEET Girl
UP Man Uses Fake Name to Kidnap NEET Aspirant; Girl Outsmarts Him Midway
A 25-year-old Muslim man from Uttar Pradesh, posing as a teenager on Instagram, was arrested for allegedly abducting a 15-year-old NEET aspirant from Kota, Rajasthan. The girl’s quick thinking and the support of a cab driver led to her safe rescue in Jhansi.
The accused, Mohammed Razak, had introduced himself as “Aadi,” an 18-year-old boy, on Instagram. He gradually befriended the minor, who had been living in a Kota hostel while preparing for the NEET medical entrance exam. Last Friday, he lured her out of her hostel and convinced her to travel with him to Lucknow in a cab.
However, during the journey, the girl noticed inconsistencies in his speech and dialect while he spoke on the phone with his relatives. Sensing danger, she quietly convinced the cab driver to divert the vehicle to the nearest police station in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
Cab Driver Helps Girl Alert Police in Time
After the girl expressed her fears, the driver acted responsibly and took her to Jhansi City Police Station. She narrated the situation to the police, who immediately detained the accused and began coordinating with Kota police.
At the same time, the hostel caretaker in Kota had already reported the girl’s disappearance. Police formed a tracking team and traced the cab’s route using digital evidence. The collaboration between Jhansi and Kota police ensured a swift response.
The girl was rescued unharmed, and Razak was handed over to Kunhadi Police Station in Kota for legal proceedings.
Accused Booked Under BNS and Juvenile Justice Act
Police identified the accused as Mohammed Razak, a resident of Lucknow. He had used a fake identity to lure the girl via Instagram. According to officials, he had hidden his real age, religion, and intentions to mislead the minor.
Razak was booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 137(2) (kidnapping) and 127(3) (wrongful confinement), along with Section 84 of the Juvenile Justice Act. He was sent to judicial custody on Wednesday.
Officials stated that such cases highlight the increasing dangers of social media fraud targeting minors. They urged parents and institutions to guide students on online safety, especially those living away from home in study hubs like Kota.
