Chandigarh – The Punjab government has announced the launch of a new initiative titled “Rising Punjab – Suggestions to Solution”, aimed at empowering industries and fostering dialogue between policymakers and business leaders. The series of events, organized under the state’s Udyog Kranti vision, will begin with its first session in Amritsar on August 19, 2025.
Industries & Commerce–cum–Investment Promotion Minister Sanjeev Arora said the program will serve as a direct bridge between the government and industrial stakeholders. The platform is expected to highlight industry-friendly reforms, policy updates, and new opportunities for investment in Punjab.
“The Rising Punjab series is not just about policies. It is about giving industries a voice, listening to their challenges, and working together to find practical solutions,” Arora said. He emphasized that the government’s goal is to make Punjab a hub for innovation, jobs, and investment.
Focus on policy reforms and solutions
According to the Industries Department, the series will showcase several recent reforms and policy initiatives designed to encourage business growth. These include:
- Clubbing and De-clubbing Policy to streamline industrial land use.
- Plot Fragmentation Policy allowing better utilization of existing plots.
- Restoration of Cancelled Plots Policy through an Appellate Authority.
- Leasehold to Freehold Policy to support industrial ownership rights.
- One Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for clearing pending dues.
Officials said the sessions will not only inform industrialists about these reforms but also collect direct feedback to fine-tune policies further.
Arora added, “Our industries are the backbone of Punjab’s economy. With Rising Punjab, we are creating a participative model of governance where solutions emerge from collaboration.”
Empowering Punjab’s industrial growth
The government stressed that the series is part of a broader plan to transform Punjab into a progressive, growth-oriented, and investment-friendly state. By engaging with business leaders in different districts, the initiative aims to encourage expansion, innovation, and job creation.
The “Rising Punjab” initiative is expected to empower small, medium, and large industries by addressing long-standing bottlenecks and simplifying processes. It is also intended to boost investor confidence by showcasing the state’s transparent and proactive approach to industrial growth.
Officials highlighted that the events will strengthen the role of the Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation (PSIEC) and the Department of Investment Promotion in enabling businesses to thrive.
Amritsar event to set the tone
The first event in Amritsar will bring together industrialists, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss challenges and explore opportunities. The government is positioning it as a landmark event that will set the tone for similar interactions across Punjab.
Arora said the government remains committed to building a modern industrial ecosystem. “Our vision is a Punjab that creates opportunities for every entrepreneur, attracts investments from across the globe, and generates meaningful employment for our youth,” he stated.
The government reaffirmed that Punjab’s Udyog Kranti is not only a policy shift but also a movement to make the state a leading hub for industry and innovation in India.
