Haryana sets protected honey price at ₹120/kg under Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, boosting farmers’ income and supporting beekeepers statewide.

The Haryana government has set a protected  Honey Price under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, which is a crucial step toward providing economic certainty to beekeepers.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana shared information on this decision, stating that it reflects the state government’s farmer-friendly stance and commitment to expanding allied agricultural enterprises. He stated that under the plan, the protected price of honey has been set at Rs. 120 per kilogram. This will protect beekeepers from market changes and provide a fair price for their products.

The Agriculture Minister stated that beekeeping has emerged as a significant supplementary source of revenue for farmers. It not only enhances farmers’ revenue but also contributes significantly to crop productivity through pollination. The Haryana government is constantly working to promote agricultural diversification, and setting a protected price for honey is a historic step in the best interests of beekeepers, he noted.

Shyam Singh Rana further stated that the registration and verification process for the initiative will take place through the Madhukranti site (madhukranti.in) and the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana (Honey) site at hortharyana.gov.in. The registration period has been set for January 1 to June 30, 2026. To take advantage of the scheme’s benefits, verification will be required within the geographical borders of Haryana.

He stated that beneficiaries will be vetted based on their Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) and bank account information. This process will be carried out by authorized personnel in full transparency to guarantee that the benefits reach actual beekeepers.

The Agriculture Minister stated that this effort is consistent with the government’s goal of increasing farmers’ income and will encourage youth and farmers to pursue beekeeping. He urged all beekeepers in the state to complete their registration within the time frame specified so that they could fully benefit from the plan.
