The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the Gujarat government over the deteriorating Surat law and order situation after the public murder of BJP youth leader Jay Dalal in the Udhna area of Surat.

AAP Surat City President Dharmesh Bhanderi described the incident as extremely serious, stating that Surat is the hometown of the state Home Minister and also the parliamentary constituency of a Union Minister. He said that if even ruling party workers are not safe, ordinary citizens are bound to feel insecure.

Rising Crime Raises Serious Concerns Over Surat Law and Order

Speaking through a video statement, Bhanderi expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and questioned the current state of Surat law and order. He claimed that incidents of murder, robbery, and violent crimes are increasing regularly in the city, while criminals appear fearless of the police.

According to Bhanderi, the police force, which should focus on maintaining peace and public safety, is allegedly being misused to suppress opposition voices. He further alleged that intelligence agencies and police departments are spending more time targeting political opponents rather than protecting citizens and improving Surat law and order.

AAP Questions Government Over Failing Surat Law and Order Situation

The AAP leader stated that when law enforcement agencies prioritize political pressure over public security, criminal activities rise unchecked. Referring to the murder in Udhna, he said the incident reflects the failure of the administration to maintain effective Surat law and order in one of Gujarat’s most important cities.

Bhanderi also claimed that criminals are roaming freely while common people are increasingly afraid. He alleged that some criminals receive indirect political protection, which further weakens public trust in the police system.

AAP has demanded that the police administration stop acting under political influence and focus on restoring Surat law and order to ensure the safety of ordinary citizens.

The party urged authorities to take strict action against criminals and rebuild confidence among the people of Surat.
