The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a sharp attack on the BJP government in Gujarat after citing findings from a recent NITI Aayog report that allegedly highlights serious shortcomings in the state’s education sector.
According to posts shared by AAP Gujarat on X, the report exposes major weaknesses in the much-publicized “Gujarat Model,” especially concerning the condition of government schools and access to quality education in rural areas.
Teacher Shortage Highlights Crisis in Gujarat Education System
The opposition party further alleged that the BJP government has shut down 5,612 government schools across Gujarat over the years. According to AAP, these closures have deprived thousands of village children of their fundamental right to education and have weakened the overall Gujarat education system.

The party also questioned the utilization of the state’s education budget. Gujarat reportedly allocates around ₹63,134 crore toward education, but AAP leaders claimed there is little transparency regarding how these funds are being spent. They argued that despite such a massive allocation, the ground reality of the Gujarat education system reflects staff shortages, inadequate infrastructure, and declining access to government schooling.
