Gujarat AAP chief Isudan Gadhvi urges farmers to remember Botad incident; Raju Karpara & Praveen Ram jailed after protest against exploitation.
Gujarat AAP ( Aam Aadmi Party ) state president Isudan Gadhvi addressed a critical issue through a video message, highlighting the plight of farmers following the Botad incident. He recalled that on October 10, AAP farmer leader Raju Karpara had gone to Botad to protest against alleged exploitation of farmers during the APMC (Agricultural Produce Market Committee) operations. Alongside him, strong party leader Praveen Ram had also joined the protest.
Gadhvi pointed out that Raju Karpara and Praveen Ram, along with 85 farmers, have been in jail for three months following the protest. The AAP chief accused the ruling BJP of orchestrating a lathi-charge, assaulting farmers, entering homes, and punishing those who raised their voices against unfair practices, while ignoring the actions of those responsible for the violence.

“The farmers went to Botad with hope to protect their rights, but the BJP, along with their agents, looted them from all sides. Instead of addressing the issue, the state machinery punished those fighting for farmers,” Gadhvi said.
Gadhvi urged Gujarat’s 5.4 million farmers to remember the sacrifices of Raju Karpara, Praveen Ram, and other protesters, especially ahead of the district and taluka panchayat elections. “Do not forget those who stood up for you and faced lathi charges and imprisonment. Gujarat farmers will never forget their efforts,” he added.
The AAP leader reaffirmed the party’s commitment to farmer welfare and justice, promising to continue highlighting issues of exploitation and misuse of power by authorities.
