AAP Gujarat Highlights Water, Education, and Corruption Issues Under BJP Rule

by Desk

AAP Gujarat leader Sagar Rabari criticizes BJP over poor water quality, malnutrition, and corruption, highlighting Gujarat’s low national rankings.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat: AAP Gujarat state secretary Sagar Rabari held a press conference highlighting severe issues in the state under BJP’s 32-year rule. Citing a recent report by the Water Resources Department, Rabari said that 57% of households in Gujarat lack access to clean drinking water, and the state ranks 30th in water quality and supply nationwide.

Rabari criticized the BJP government for failing to deliver meaningful development, despite hosting multiple Vibrant Gujarat summits. According to him, Gujarat’s debt has exceeded ₹4 lakh crore, and the state is not among the top five in FDI inflow this fiscal year. While the government spends lavishly on summits, citizens continue to face poor infrastructure, low water quality, and high malnutrition rates.

Key Rankings Highlighted by Rabari:

  • Water quality: 30th in India

  • Malnutrition: 31st

  • Per capita income: 10th

  • Farmers’ income: 12th

  • Education quality: 18th

Rabari further accused the BJP of widespread corruption, citing suspensions of four district collectors in the last three years due to corruption charges, including a recent case in Surendranagar involving crores of rupees in bribes. He alleged that government schemes such as the Nal Se Jal plan, check-dams, and MNREGA payments were mismanaged, with funds siphoned off while citizens continued to suffer.

He also criticized BJP’s approach to infrastructure, claiming that bridges collapse soon after construction, and sham efforts are made in sanitation campaigns for photo opportunities rather than real impact.

Rabari called on the BJP and Prime Minister to halt extravagant summits, which do not attract FDI, and focus on genuine governance. He warned that unemployment and crime are rising in Gujarat due to administrative failures and rampant corruption.

He concluded by urging the people of Gujarat to wake up to the reality and hold the BJP accountable for decades of mismanagement, corruption, and neglect of basic services.
