New Delhi : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi has strongly condemned the recent scientist arrest in India, describing it as a blatant misuse of power by the Modi government. The party said the arrest of a dedicated climate scientist and activist not only caused personal harm but also resulted in a significant setback to scientific research and innovation in the country.

AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal stated, “The Modi government stands exposed once again. A scientist who devoted his life to public service and climate research was arrested without any evidence. The months spent in jail represent a loss not just for him, but for the nation as a whole. Such actions undermine innovation and public service.”

The party further highlighted that incidents like this scientist arrest in India send a chilling message to researchers and activists working in critical areas such as climate change, renewable energy, and environmental protection. AAP leaders argued that arbitrary detentions discourage young scientists from contributing to the nation’s development.

Saurabh Bhardwaj, AAP Delhi spokesperson, added, “A scientist arrest in India without proper investigation is unacceptable. The government must protect scientists, activists, and citizens who serve the nation rather than harassing them. Ignoring their welfare will only stifle research, innovation, and public service.”

The party called upon the Modi government to review its policies, ensure transparency in legal processes, and guarantee that dedicated scientists are not targeted for political reasons. “Every citizen contributing positively to society, especially in fields like climate science, deserves protection and encouragement,” AAP Delhi emphasized.

AAP Delhi concluded by warning that repeated incidents of scientist arrest in India could have long-term consequences on the country’s scientific progress and innovation ecosystem. The party urged immediate corrective measures to safeguard the rights and freedom of scientists and activists.
