The Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Row has intensified after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced a nationwide signature campaign seeking strict action against those accused in the alleged financial irregularities linked to temple donations.
Addressing the media on Friday, Kejriwal appealed to people across the country to join the campaign and demand accountability. He said every Sanatan follower should support efforts to ensure that anyone found guilty after due legal process is punished.
Kejriwal Alleges Centre Is Protecting the Accused
Speaking on the Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Row, Kejriwal alleged that the Central Government was trying to protect those allegedly involved in the donation controversy.
He said the AAP would collect signatures on a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging strict action against all those found responsible after the investigation is completed.
Kejriwal also called upon citizens to raise their voices and participate in the campaign in large numbers.

Signature Campaign to Begin in Delhi
The AAP leader announced that the nationwide campaign will be launched on Sunday with a Sundar Kaand recital at Japani Park in Delhi’s Rohini.
According to Kejriwal, the event will mark the beginning of the public outreach programme, where citizens will be invited to sign a letter seeking transparency and accountability in the Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Row.

Background of the Controversy
The controversy began after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav alleged financial irregularities in the donation management system of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Following the allegations, the Uttar Pradesh Government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Based on its preliminary findings, eight people associated with counting cash and valuables received as temple donations were arrested.
The issue has also prompted opposition parties to demand a judicial probe into the matter.
Trust’s Response and Ongoing Investigation
Former Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai had rejected the allegations, stating that the ongoing internal audit had not revealed any significant irregularities. He later resigned from his post.
The Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Row continues to remain at the centre of political debate, with investigations ongoing and different political parties demanding transparency and accountability in the management of temple donations.
AAP said its signature campaign is aimed at mobilising public support while calling for strict legal action against anyone found guilty after the investigation is completed.
