Delhi MCD By-Election: Kejriwal Says Public Trust ‘Rapidly Returning’ as AAP Wins 3 Wards

Arvind Kejriwal reacts to Delhi MCD by-election results, saying public trust is returning to AAP as the party wins Naraina, Mundka and Dakshinpuri.

 New Delhi: On Wednesday, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal responded to the Delhi MCD by-election results for the first time. According to the results, people’s trust is “rapidly returning towards the Aam Aadmi Party,” Kejriwal emphasized.

“In this corporation by-election, this time the Aam Aadmi Party fielded its dedicated workers in the electoral arena, and the people of Delhi have made it clear through their mandate that the public support for Delhi is continuously strengthening towards the AAP,” Kejriwal wrote in a tweet about X.

“In just 10 months, the public’s trust is once again rapidly returning towards the Aam Aadmi Party. Delhi is very soon returning towards positive politics and good works,” he stated.

AAP retains Dakshinpuri and wins on three wards.

According to the by-election results, the AAP secured victories in Naraina, Mundka, and the Dakshinpuri wards, winning three of the twelve wards. The party acquired Naraina and Mundka, which were won by the BJP and an Independent candidate who later joined the BJP, respectively, while keeping Dakshinpuri, which it had won in the 2022 MCD elections.

In the meantime, Chandni Mahal and Chandni Chowk were conceded by the party. All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) candidate Mohd Imran won the Chandni Mahala ward, while Suman Kumar Gupta of the BJP took home the Chandni Chowk ward.

In which 12 wards did voting take place?

Greater Kailash, Shalimar Bagh B, Ashok Vihar, Chandni Chowk, Chandni Mahal, Dichaon Kalan, Naraina, Sangam Vihar A, Dakshin Puri, Mundka, Vinod Nagar, and Dwarka B are among the wards where by-elections were conducted.

AAP gains three wards while the BJP gains seven.

According to the MCD by-election results, the BJP won seven of the twelve wards. The BJP controlled the saffron party going into the by-elections, while the AAP held the other three. The AAP, meanwhile, kept three wards. One apiece was won by the Congress and the All India Forward Bloc. Shalimar Bagh B, Chandni Chowk, Vinod Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Greater Kailash, Dichaon Kalan, and Dwarka B were all won by the BJP. Notably, AAP won Dakshin Puri, Mundka, and Naraina. The Chandni Mahal ward was won by Mohd Imran, the candidate of the All India Forward Bloc.
