Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who had won from the Patparganj seat in 2013, 2015, and 2020, was replaced by AAP candidate Ojha. Ravinder Singh Negi of the Bharatiya Janata Party defeated Ojha.
Sisodia had run unsuccessfully from the Jangpura seat, falling short against Tarvinder Singh Marwah of the BJP.
Ojha was handed the ticket by the party, according to AAP leader Somnath Bharti, since he will cooperate with the party regardless of the outcome of the election.
“I respect you personally, @OjhaAvadh57 In a post on X, Bharti stated, “Ji, but politics is not a short-term project and a person of your maturity and prominence should have weighed options before stepping into politics, especially with @AamAadmiParty.”
