AAP Raises Alarm Over 400-Bed Hospital in Greater Kailash 1, Citing Legal and Civic Concerns

by Desk

AAP Delhi opposes 400-bed hospital in Greater Kailash 1, citing legal violations, traffic congestion, and inadequate water supply ahead of MCD by-elections.

A major issue for the next Municipal Corporation of Delhi by-election is the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) opposition to the development of a 400-bed hospital in the Greater Kailash 1 residential neighborhood.

AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj asserted during the party’s candidate Eeshna Gupta’s campaign that the hospital project started suddenly “the day AAP was not in government.” He claimed that the building is unlawful and is being carried out with the help of the Delhi government and the current BJP-led administration in the civic body.

According to Bharadwaj, the hospital is being constructed on government property without following the proper protocols. Inadequate water supplies and the possibility of severe traffic congestion that would make the area “impossible to live in” were among the grave civic worries he mentioned.

The local Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) was against the initiative, according to the AAP leader. They were compelled to pursue legal action, but the administration said nothing for three months in response to the court’s inquiries about the project’s legality and infrastructure.

Before asking for community votes, Bharadwaj urged the BJP leadership, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, to submit an affidavit to the court stating that the facility was unlawful. Instead of accepting what he called “vague guarantees,” he asked locals to demand answers from BJP campaign leaders.

He added that Prime Minister Modi had previously backed New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, implying that the people of Greater Kailash have not benefited from these assurances.
