Delhi schools up to class 5 switch to hybrid learning as GRAP-3 pollution measures kick in. Students can attend online or in-person classes.
Delhi School: In an effort to reduce pollution in Delhi’s consistently deplorable areas, the government has introduced Grap-3 business. As a result, schools must run in hybrid mode until the fifth grade. Nevertheless, some private schools exclusively provide hybrid learning to students in Class II. It has been requested that the remaining kids physically come to school. This was stated by Saurabh Bharadwaj, the head of the Aam Aadmi Party, on social media.
What did the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party say?
“Hybrid classes are being ridiculed by many private schools, such as Happy School Daryaganj,” tweeted Saurabh Bhardwaj, a Delhi coordinator for the Aam Aadmi Party, on his social network ‘X’ account. Hybrid means that students can choose between online and offline resources. What is stated in this school message is not indicative of this. Additionally, Saurabh Bharadwaj included a note from the school in this post. Please be advised, parents, that until further notice, lessons from nursery 1 through class 2 will be conducted in hybrid mode in compliance with the education department’s circular that you have already received. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, students will attend offline classes at the school. Classes will be held online on Saturdays and Wednesdays. During these two days, kindly refrain from sending your kids to school.
Describe hybrid mode.
Creating a new method by merging two or more approaches is known as hybrid mode. Schools, workplaces, and other locations where people physically congregate can all benefit from this activity. Given the ongoing decline in Delhi’s pollution, this activity has been introduced in elementary schools for young students. Children can choose to learn online or offline under this. In other words, kids have the option of attending school in person or studying online while remaining at home. Aside from this, kids are also offered the choice to skip class one day.

In the event that the Air Quality Index (AQI) falls into the severe range (401–450), phase 3 of air pollution (GRAP-3) is implemented. Bans on non-essential building, BS-III gasoline and BS-IV diesel vehicles, and the conversion of schools up to class 5 into hybrid modes for online instruction are also recommended. With the national capital and surrounding areas experiencing a severe deterioration in air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management imposed stage 3 limitations under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on Tuesday throughout the whole region.
To which schools does this order apply?
The extreme levels of air pollution in Delhi-NCR have prompted the Commission for Air Quality Management to order the implementation of all Stage 3 air quality measures with immediate effect. As a result, schools in Delhi’s Gurugram, Noida, and Greater Noida districts, both public and private, have been ordered to run hybrid programs for students in class five. This means that the class will be taught both online and off. This injunction will be in effect until further notice, the Directorate of Education said.
Delhi pollution remark from CM Rekha Gupta
According to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, all security precautions are being taken and GRAP 3 has been put into place. A hybrid method that combines online and in-person instruction will be used in schools up to class five. The schools have also been directed to inform the parents about this change immediately. The decision comes at a time when Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) continues to be in the severe category. He further said that in view of public health, these stringent steps are being taken to protect the health of young children.
