CM Nitish Kumar highlights Bihar’s 20-year transformation in infrastructure, tourism, air connectivity, and economy, turning the state into a modern, prosperous hub.

Bihar’s 20-year development journey has been posted on social media platform X by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Bihar was backward in every area prior to 2005, he claimed, but projects like the Ganga Path, Atal Path, and Modern Expressway have since transformed the state’s reputation. In two decades, Nitish wrote, his government transformed the image of backwardness into one of progress.

Bihar was already a target of mockery before to 2005.

“Reminiscing a picture of the old Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar wrote,” “Before 2005, Bihar had lagged behind in every region.” Buildings were not even maintained, roads were broken, and development efforts had stalled. With such a rich history, Bihar has earned a reputation for being mocked globally. People used to conceal who they were back then since it was seen as a disgrace to be labeled Bihari. Bihar’s orientation and state were altered when the government started anew in the areas of infrastructure, education, health, tourism, and jobs after taking office.

According to the Chief Minister, Bihar has seen the construction of numerous world-class highways and expressways in the last 20 years. The primary ones are the East-West Corridor, Patna-Gaya-Dobhi Four Lane, Patna-Muzaffarpur Four Lane, Patna-Bakhtiarpur-Mokama Path, Patlipath, Bihta-Sarmera Path, Mithapur-Mahuli Path, Lohia Path Chakra, Bakhtiarpur-Rajauli Path, and JP Ganga Path. In addition, the building of the Varanasi-Kolkata, Amas-Darbhanga, Patna-Purnea, Gorakhpur-Siliguri, and Raxaul-Haldia expressways is proceeding quickly.

In addition to simplifying traffic, these developments have boosted business, trade, and tourist. The state has seen a considerable boost in both its income and growth rate.

Modern structures have come to define Bihar.

According to Nitish Kumar, contemporary building construction and state roads are both transforming Bihar’s character. He said the government had built the State Guest House of Gaya, Mahabodhi Convention Centre, Darbhanga Planetarium, Anjuman Islamia Bhawan, Haj Bhawan, Patna Samaharanalaya, Gyan Bhawan, Bapu Auditorium, Civilisation Gate, Bihar Museum, and OP Shah Bhawan. He stated, “These buildings are not just structures, but a picture of a new Bihar, full of confidence, modern and prosperous Bihar.”

Bihar makes history in the fields of ecotourism and tourism.

Rajgir, Bodh Gaya, Nawada, Madhubani, and Patna have been added to the world tourism map, the Chief Minister remarked, referring to the state government’s tourism-related initiatives. Global recognition has been given to projects such as Buddha Smriti Park, Mithila Haat, Pandu Pokhar, Venuvan, Glass Sky Walk, Rajgir Nature Safari, Zoo Safari, Ghoda Bowl Lake, and Kolat Falls. Bihar is the new face of tourism today. Our goal is to make the state’s historical and religious sites a popular destination worldwide.

Surat’s transformation by Patna Metro, Sports University, and Science City

Bihar’s modernism is exemplified by projects like Abdul Kalam Science City, Rajgir Sports University, Patna Metro Project, and Pataliputra Sports Complex, according to Nitish Kumar. He said that the underground tunnel project to connect the Patna and Bihar museums is also nearing completion.

Bihar becomes an independent state in terms of air connectivity.

According to the Chief Minister’s letter, the state’s air services have also experienced a historic expansion. While the airports at Darbhanga and Purnia have already begun construction, a new, contemporary terminal has been constructed in Patna. Airports are now being built and expanded in Bihta, Raxaul, Veerpur, Valmikinagar, Madhubani, Munger, Saharsa, and Muzaffarpur.

The budget is now Rs 3 lakh crore instead of Rs 24 thousand crore.

“The state budget has now exceeded 3 lakh 16 thousand crore rupees, which is a multifold increase from 24 thousand crore in 2005,” Nitish Kumar stated. Effective financial management and open governance have made this possible. We live up to our promises. The initial work was carried to its final location. Bihar’s progress will continue in this manner.
